Buying tips

If you are new to buying property through auctions, Boultons can help. Below are a few helpful tips that will aid your success when bidding for an auction property.

  • Bring a personal or business cheque book to the Auction to pay the deposit for any properties that you purchase.
  • Do not bring cash
  • Bring identification - passport or photographic driving licence with a recent utility bill for your home address
  • Ensure that your finances are in place before you bid for the property
  • Arrive at least half an hour prior to the Auction as space is sometimes limited
  • When bidding ensure that this is done clearly and concisely
  • If you are out of town on the day of the Auction, proxy bids (by mail) or telephone bidding can be arranged in advance. Contact the Auctioneers Offices at least three days prior to the Auction to arrange this
  • If you are successful with your bid, please report to the Auction staff who will take you through the signing of contracts.
